Evaluation Question 3

I used my phone to record my voice then edited in on Adobe Premiere Pro to have a video with my audience feedback survey and uploaded it on youtube.

Transcript:

I was quiet happy with the feedback I received from people overall. The results of my audience feedback survey is showing on screen but I will also be talking about the feedbacks I got from people with who I’ve had a chat after they watched the short film. I have had 5 responses from my social media (facebook and twitter). The first question was if people liked and found it interesting and everyone said yes, I am very happy that people liked it as the main purpose of this film is to entertain.
For question 2 someone mentioned the fact that it might include a bit too much music and someone didn’t like the end either. I don’t know he/she is talking about how the story ends or how I made the short film end. Everyone liked the music and said how it matches well with the scenes that were playing. I have then also asked if the film was easy to understand despite the absence of dialogue. The results on my survey all said that it was easy to very easy to understand, but one of my friends who watched the film next to me said that he thinks that it would have been easier with dialogues. I honestly think that the images and the voiceover were enough to tell the story.

I also asked people how they received the message behind this short film, which is to not put all your eggs in one basket in life. Most people were confused and thought that the message was that education should be a priority in life therefore I think that I haven’t been precise enough on this one.
The last question was about the things that people would have added or changed. Most people said nothing and 3 people said 3 different things; someone talked about how he would have added different camera shots and angles, someone else said less music and more voice over and the last person said it would have been better with 2-3 actors.

To conclude, those feedbacks have helped to analyse how my audience has decoded my short film.. Based on Stuart Hall theory I now know that the receptions are between dominant and negotiated.

POST- PRODUCTION DIARY 5 - SECOND DRAFT POSTER

This is a Poster I made as second draft. I'm still not happy with how it looks as I feel that it doesn't look good or professional.

POST-PRODUCTION DIARY 4 - Ancillary Task 1

I have started to work on my poster. This is not the look I wanted to give so I'll have to keep on practicing in order to gain the skills needed to produce what I have in mind.

POST-PRODUCTION DIARY 3 - EDITING

Day 2 of my editing journey's been alright I've managed to add music and to edit the video as well in terms of "beauty" of the images, tried to make it look professional with an adjustment layer. I have also added transitions effect in between shots.

POST-PRODUCTION DIARY 2 - EDITING

Started to edit today, kept it very basic as this is the first day and the first scene I am editing. I already got the rough cut so I am pleased as it is what I had planned.

POST-PRODUCTION DIARY - ADOBE PREMIERE PRO

Before starting to edit, I have watched a few tutorials and trained on Adobe Premiere Pro in order to extent my skills on this software as I will be using it and I will therefore feel more confident and be more productive.
I have mostly learned the basic, how to cut your footage and past it together in order to create your shortcut. How to give a cinematic aspect to your video which is very important as it will enable me to create a more likely close professional short film. I also learned a few shortcuts, helpful as I will be able to work faster on the software which is less time-consuming.

PRE- PRODUCTION DIARY (Last)

I have finally found my actor and have started to film most of my short-film's scenes. I will probably have to re-film a few shots or scenes while I'm editing just in case I am missing something or find I could add something more. The videoshoot went overall very good as I managed to tick every point that I wanted to get done today.  I am filming my next two scenes tomorrow or Sunday depending on the weather and on my actor's availability. So I should be able to start editing in a few days if everything goes well. I will only post something tomorrow if something goes wrong and I feel like it's good to mention otherwise I will close the "Pre-Production Diary" as I will be posting "Post-Production" articles.

PRE-PRODUCTION DIARY 7

Change of Plans

After filming two scenes with my main actor, he told me that he couldn't do it as he is really busy at the moment. Therefore I will have to find someone else to do it and re-film the scenes we had already done with the previous actor. As I already know someone else who could do it I am not panicking as I am sure that I will be able to manage and get everything done by the deadline.
